Linux operating system.
This is not for the technologically faint hearted, Linux is a 'community engineered' alternative to the Windows operating system. Benefits to recruitment agencies are
The machines are often cheaper and faster than a Windows PC
They carry equivalent packages (e.g. word processor, spreadsheet, presentation etc.) for all available Windows office software with one key difference, the Linux software is all open source and is therefore free!
Linux machines do not suffer virus attacks. With Windows I used to loose 2 to 3 days per year (plus sleep) over virus attacks and then having to recover data. With Linux in 2 years I've had none!
The one thing to be careful of here is that Linux is different kit to windows, so you will need a specialist Linux company to support you. But, if you can get this, my opinion is, and I stress it's my opinion, Linux is fantastic for recruitment consultants, cheaper to buy, cheaper to run, faster and more reliable!
Open source software.
Office software, and in particular CRM systems can cost recruitment agencies large amounts of money to set up and run. Open source software is free, created and updated by a large community of techies it's presents highly sophisticated alternatives to traditional software. There are now excellent open source CRM packages, totally free as they are open source and perfectly usable as recruitment agency database software. As with Linux, it's advisable to find a company who will support you through it, but other than support, the software is free to obtain and use on an ongoing basis, and it's web based, making it easy for recruitment consultants to view from any location. Have a look at Sugar CRM.
Messenger.
This is not that new, but essential technology for any recruitment agency, messenger enables staff to communicate from anywhere, real-time, so long as they have an internet connection. There are a number of benefits:
Saves on phone and text charges, messenger communication is free.
Highly effective for team working with channels to all open all of the time.
Excellent to support home working in maintaining your contact with staff.
Works on any PC or mobile device with an internet connection.
Smart phones.
Today's mobile phones offer exceptional functionality with broadband speed internet connections enabling full mobile e-mail capacity and internet browsing whilst out interviewing. If your company places it's database on a server which is attached to the internet, you'll have full access to your recruitment database whilst out with clients or interviewing. The days of recruitment consultants having to synchronise with outlook when you're back in the office are gone. Run a web based e-mail package (try Zimbra) for all your e-mail, calender and notes and you will never need to synch again, simply use in on your phone over the internet
IP phones.
To look at and use these are just the same as any other phone. However, they don't need a phone line, simply a connection to the internet, but here's the good bits.
No phone line, no monthly rental charges.
An IP Phone comes with a an 0845 number which follows the phone. If you travel to the other side of the world and plug into the internet, and you have your same 0845, your same office extension (so your PA can still put calls through) and free calls to anyone else on an IP phone, or at worst a local rate elsewhere.
The biggest application for recruitment consultants is home working. You could be in the office one day, and at home the next, and still on the end of your office extension, the potential savings to recruitment agencies here are huge.
Web based e-mail.
Gone are those days when web based e-mail was just hotmail, which was convenient but lacking the sophistication of packages like outlook, which carried calenders and other useful office functionality. Now, packages such as Zimbra offer unparalleled functionality on a web based package, also now configured to work on smart phones for mobility. Rather than having to synchronise e-mail packages on PC and smart phone, now mobile recruitment consultants can use the same package where ever they are, on any computer, anywhere in the world. The software is open source, so it's completely free!
If you are a recruitment consultant like myself, you may find it difficult to focus on things like this which are visibly related to generating another fee. But be warned, recruitment consultants who embrace these developments are giving themselves the advantage before the recruitment has even began.

AP - The discovery of excessive levels of the industrial chemical melamine in Chinese eggs has prompted Hong Kong authorities to expand testing to include meat products imported from China, a senior official said Sunday.
For the last few years, the only games my sons would play online were arcade games. I have to admit that these games are quite interesting, and if I was lucky enough to have some free time, which I did have some back then, I would sit with them while they played and get quite involved myself. Though I dont have as much time for that anymore, those will always be some of my favorite memories with my sons.
The thing about arcade games is that they are very intense. My sons would often get very worked up about the games, and that was perhaps most of the fun of it. The world inside that game is very real while you are playing it, and it would often seem like that was all there was to think about. Though arcade games are pretty common, there are only so many that can be considered very good. Everyone likes something different anyway, so there is something out there for everyone.
You do have to be careful when you play arcade games however, as they can be quite addictive. If you have any sort of work to do, you should do it before you play arcade games. My sons would get lost for hours in their online games, and there were a few times when my oldest son would almost forget to go to work. This can happen with any online game though. I know a few that I play have sucked away more time than I realized. It would seem the arcade games are the worst though.
If you are looking for some great arcade games to play, you might want to find some reviews first to see what you might want to try. You can find these all over the internet, and you can usually find tips and tricks to help you along if you have no idea what you are doing. Some of these games are more expensive, and its hard to know what you will like and what just wont work for you. You might also try free online games with someone you know to save a little money on buying new games.

AP - The Sunday afternoon calm was broken by shouts from the small, mission-style house, watched over by a statue of the Virgin Mary.
Board games are an invention that has been around much, much longer than the average person would probably expect. Most civilizations throughout history have had some form of board game within its culture, with relics of some board games being discovered before signs that the culture had even developed literacy skill. The oldest confirmed board game can be traced back to 3500 BC, to the predynastic era of Egypt. Senet, as it has been come to be called, translates to "the passing game." The game had quite a popularity in Ancient Egypt, with remnants of Senet boards being found not only in the predynastic era, but also in First Dynasty burial sites, which date to around 3100 BC.
Paintings of Senet have been found on the walls of many Egyptian burial tombs, from the tomb of Merknara which dates to around 3300-2700 BC and the burial site of the Third Dynasty Hesy, who lived from 2686-2613 BC. By the time of the New Dynasty of 1567-1085 BC, Senet had come to be a game of grave importance to the Egyptians. It was believed that a good Senet player would be protected from harm by the gods and often, corpses would be buried with Senet boards as a means to aid in the dangerous journey to the afterlife. The Egyptian Book of the Dead makes references to Senet and its uses with the afterlife journey, proving its vast importance to their society.
Across the world, in China, the board game Go was being developed at the same time. The first known written reference to the game dates back to 548 BC, but legend has it that the game was begun by the Chinese Emperor Yao, who lived from 2337-2258 BC and had the game designed for his son. It has been theorized that the game was used by Chinese tribal warlords who used stones to map out attacking positions. There is even conjecture that the game originated out of a fortune telling device, but none of these can be accurately proven. Go was considered to be the game of the aristocracy and it slowly began to spread to Japan and Korea around the 5th Century AD.
Backgammon has traces of the original Senet game within it, but the first traces of its modern incarnation come from the 1st Century AD, where Ludus Duodecim Scriptorum redesigned the board into 2 rows of 12 points each. By the 6th Century, this game had come to be known as Alea, and by the Middle Ages, Alea was considered to be the most popular game. The name changed somewhat to be known as either "Alea" or "Backgammon." This game, among others, were all called "Tabula," which was a generic term that roughly meant the equivalent of "board game."
Board games have been common through most of history, with each culture and civilization showing historic proof of their existence. However, board games seemed to experience a renaissance in the middle of the 20th Century, when the rise of the middle class provided both the time, money, and the desire for collections of them to become popular. Board games are still riding the wave of this popularity and, despite whatever might happen, can be assured to last long into the future in some form or another.

AP - Gov. Sarah Palin's signature accomplishment - a contract to build a 1,715-mile pipeline to bring natural gas from Alaska to the Lower 48 - emerged from a flawed bidding process that narrowed the field to a company with ties to her administration, an Associated Press investigation shows.
The most common error - and error that clearly shows that there is an issue with your ps2 lens, is the disc read error. What this means is that when you insert a game disc into your console, and close the tray, when trying to load that game, you'll have a disc read error. It will show up on your screen by telling you that this disc can not be read by your console.
Less noticeable indications that your ps2 lens is no longer working as it should can be diagnosed by skipping while playing your game. Mainly when watching into screen movies, or cut scenes between levels. When you notice that there is a jerky / jittery, even full blow skipping on your screen, and you're sure that your disc does not have any major scratches that would cause this, then it's probably an indication that your ps2 lens needs to be replaced or repaired.
A very good way to determine if the issues you are having are with your game or the ps2 lens itself, is to load that very same game into your friends PS2 console, and see if the exact same problems occur with the game in another Playstation 2 as well. If the game loads as it should, and the skipping is not there - or in the case of a full disc read error where your game simply will not load up, but loads just fine in another Playstation 2 console, then it is definitely an indication of your PS2 Lens not working properly at all.
The only sure fire way to fix the slim ps2 lens problem is to purchase, and install, a new slim ps2 lens. While I wish that there were other solutions, there simply are not. If you caught it in time, and applied the lens fix spoken about earlier in this article, then you could avoid having to purchase a new lens. However, with replacement lens prices for the slim ps2 as low as $35.00, it's certainly not an expensive repair, and certainly much cheaper than going out and buying a new slim PS2 console.
While some games simply skip, due mainly to scratches on the surface of the DVD disc (game disc) or dirt and finger prints, once cleaned, these games should boot and load just fine.
Although you may think you have to spend $80.00 to get your Playstation 2 repaired. The most common problem with any Playstation 2 console is the dreaded DISC READ ERROR. By purchasing and installation a replacement PS2 Lens you're able to quickly and easily solve this problem and start playing your games once again. On the surface, many of the sites offering you the ability to download PSP games appear to be legit. They've got the nice graphics, the normal 'disclaimers', they even have privacy policies! I mean, how much more legal could that be? There are a few who you can trust, but for the most part, if you make a pick the wrong place you could get fined thousands of dollars!
Well, the reality is vastly different. And here's why: most of the sites where you download PSP games are not letting you do it legally. The games, movies and TV shows they offer are all pirated. Now I'm not one to point a finger at downloaders. I've done it, you've done it, we've all done it! However, would you pay for the privilege of getting hacked stuff?
How To Avoid Fines When You Download PSP Games: Do Your Homework
Think about it for a second, if you're paying to get games, they have your personal info! What do you think happens when Sony steps in and shuts one of these sites down?
Yea, they know all about you. And if you just purchased a "Life Time Membership" to a PSP Hack site, how much of that cash do you think you'll get back?
How To Avoid Fines When You Download PSP Games: 100,000,000 Games?
This one should be obvious. If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is.
My rule is to always shy away from the sites offering more games than the entire collection of Sony gaming systems could support. Seriously. How dumb do they think we are!? And if they really do have 100 Million games what kind of crap are they trying to pass off, and where are they finding them? Last I checked, it wasn't that fun to wander through some off topic RPG where the dialog is in Russian.
How To Avoid Fines When You Download PSP Games: Why Do You Want My Email?
This one has it's good and bad side, but when you're dealing with a site that's offering 100% illegal content for a fee I'm not so sure I can trust their anti SPAM and privacy policy.
So the bottom line is pretty simple: Use your best judgment when choosing a site to download PSP Games. There are a few out there who will cut you a fair deal, but the massive majority... not so much. Watch yourself out there!

AP - It's been eight years since the re-count of the 2000 Florida election, but Jim Dobyns is still living with chads. One waited for him when he went to clean the top of the microwave. Renewable energy technology such as windmills and solar cells are going increasingly mainstream. So much so that they are becoming more economically available than they ever were before. Even today, you could pay over $3000 to have something like that professionally installed. This greatly accounts for why you don't see too many solar cells on roofs or windmills in backyards, in the past it just wasn't economically viable. With growing concern over the environment, global warming, and the energy crisis, they've all become increasingly public issues. For all of this, a number of DIY guides have recently come onto the market advertising that anyone, regardless of their experience or skill, can build their own windmills and solar cells generally for under $200.
Skeptical that you could create working renewable energy technology on that small of a budget and eager to blow the whistle on the whole thing, I invested in a couple of these guides to see for myself how possible it really was. I spent a weekend in my garage putting together my first windmill and set it all up, eagerly awaiting the results. I kept an eye on my power consumption with the help of a friend who works at the power company and was pleasantly surprised to learn that I cut back on my bill by about 60% in the three quarters of a power bill month frame which I had used it. I live along the coast so I was expecting something, but not quite this. I went ahead and put together some solar cells like the guide showed me a few weeks later and now I'm saving about 75-80% on my bill each month. I put together a second windmill for my friend and when I get around to it I want to make a second one for myself so that I can start producing more electricity than I go through.
Since when I tested my first guide months ago, I have reviewed a number more of these DIY renewable energy technology guides to see how the information compares against one another.
If you're at all skeptical, visit http://www.renewableenergyreviewed.com for a detailed review of each of my favorite guides where I break down ease of use, results, and more.

World of Warcraft has been criticized in the past for a sub-par and almost of Video games>useless profession system. Burning Crusade attempts to change all that by allowing users to craft items of great power that are comparable to loot in dungeons or the arenas.
As far as leatherworking goes in the Burning Crusade, the improvements are pretty comprehensive. Armor will be made stronger, will include leg enhancements, and will provide more protection for the players getting into the raids and the more hazardous dungeons. These new armor kits will be pretty simple to construct and will really come in handy when players can't get a particular high-end enchantment.
Mining now has available some more types of metal at the endgame. In BC, players will find Fel Iron and Adamantite, several kinds of high-end base metals, and also a few rare metals known as Eternium and Khorium. Similar to herbalists, miners will see some of the unusual Outland dwellers give up some rare materials when killed, for use for forge-fires. The miners will "skin" these corpses to obtain materials utilized by blacksmiths and engineers.
With the blacksmithing, they will now be able to make legendary quality weapons that only they themselves can use, such as a sword or the most durable suit of armor. These will be able to be worn, no matter what the game stage. Then, when they want everyone to take advantages of all this, they can so designate.
Alchemists will all have basic subject knowledge, but they will also be able to specialize.
These individuals will learn Elixirs, Potions, or Transmutation. Because of this, alchemists will be capable of constructing two items instead of merely one.
Enchanters now have new spells/enchantments in their repertoire. There are the new and improved mana and wizard oils, the ring spells, and lastly the Battlemaster and Spellsurge weapon enchantments. The ring spells will require locating the hidden formulas.
Herbalists will discover rare and novel herbs indigenous to Outland, with many strange and varied effects, some positive and some negative. And some will bestow (or inflict) strange effects on the herbalist who picks them. Plus, only this group will be permitted to harvest through the act of skinning, the unusual and scarce ingredients from plant beasts of the shattered regions lying outside the Dark Portal.
Engineers will locate new and useful gadget schematics. These will come from the innovative Goblin and Gnomish in their Research and Development Labs. Two such inventions will be Rocket Launchers and the Nigh Invulnerability Belts. Next, this class will have at their disposal a Mote Extractor to collect various resources from Outland's magic and gas clouds. Finally, raiding engineers will be able to create different colored smoke flares, enabling marking of significant areas.
