So you want to know how to put videos on a PSP, right? You will need to learn how to do a number of things in order to do this. You need to learn how to download the movies, how to convert them into a file format that will work on your PSP, how to put videos on your psp, and how to manage and play the files that you get.
You may already have the videos that you want a transfer over on your computer already. Maybe you have downloaded them from YouTube already. In this case you only need to know to put videos on your PSP without downloading videos.
It's a shame that the PSP does not come with a guide to put music videos on PSP, but the information is out there if you know where to look. I spent a lot of time looking, and here at all the answers which I came up with.
The video files of the PSP uses called MP4 files. They are the next generation up from MP3 files. You can put videos on PSP memory stick for your PSP, but the PSP memory stick will have to have enough capacity to hold the entire video. The short videos and shouldn't be a problem, but with longer videos you need to make sure that the file sizes not to break, or look at alternatives to using a memory stick.
There are specialised software packages which will do the conversion for you. There is some software which is free, and alternative software which you need to pay for. They both do essentially the same thing, but the paid software has more features. The software should do more than just converting the files, in fact the more popular software will handle the transfer and actually put videos on PSP for you.
As you transfer the files over, there are two choices. Firstly you can connect to be PSP using a USB port, or alternatively you can plug could be memory cards into your PC and do the transfer directly before pulling them back into the PSP. Again, your software should know how to do this.
The big problem is getting this video is to start with, as we don't all have masses of video files lying around all the time. Popular sources videos include YouTube, Google videos, itunes videos, dvd movies you legally own, and other sources. YouTube and Google videos are fine, but the quality does tend to be a bit low, and they are mostly short videos. If you want longer videos, I strongly recommend you avoid using illegal file sharing software, which is used by video pirates to rip off DVDs.
Instead I recommend that you go for one of the new PSP download sites which specialise in providing video content of PSP owners, have complete in depth step-by-step instructions on how to put videos on a PSP, and all the software that you need. One particular network is you access to millions and millions of files which you can use in your PSP, including videos, music, games and even more software, all of which is legal to download and use.
I linked to the service which I recommend below.
Matthew Burns has published a list of PSP download sites which you can see online. Just click here to see which ones he recommends.
